Akitada Hon Kasumi Series
(White
Steel No.2)
The "Kasumi" and "Hon Kasumi" blades have a haze (Kasumi) finish. The "Hon" means a genuine,
real or true in English, so the "Hon Kasumi" blade has an extra hand polishing and finishing works by the skilled
craftsman.
The currently introducing Mizuno AO HAGANE DX Seires and HON TANREN Series have this "Hon Kasumi" blade finish, but JCK is pleased to introduce new and reasonably priced "Hon Kasumi"series made of Hitachi
Shirogami (white steel#2), that has same carbon content as Aogami in Rockwell hardness of Rc.60, but no
chromium and Tangsten.
Many pro-users prefer to own White steel #2 blades
because of its good characteristic " Ease of
resharpening" (easier to make sharp edge in the sharpening
process).
JCK would like to bring the fine forged and
fine made of
Mizuno products to more people.
